Scholarship Opportunities at GU-Q
Georgetown University in Qatar admits and enrolls students without regard to their financial circumstances and is committed to meeting the demonstrated financial need of eligible students through a combination of aid programs that include grants, scholarships, federal aid, and sponsorships. The majority of GU-Q’s undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid. Your financial aid is determined by subtracting your total estimated family contribution from your total cost of attendance. Estimated family contribution is the financial responsibility of the family based on the calculation and assessment of your financial information provided on the CSS Profile and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with the submitted required documents. GU-Q imposed a minimum estimated family contribution of USD 1,000
Your financial need can be covered by various financial aids coming internally from the University or from other public and private entities offering sponsorships and scholarships. A combination of different financial aids can be utilized for the financial need of the student. Your calculated financial need can be covered by different forms of financial aid: Grants and Scholarships are awarded to students with financial need as determined comprehensively through the CSS Profile and FAFSA application as applicable along with the submitted supporting documents. FAFSA comes from the US federal fund and are awarded to qualified students with financial need. Eligibility for the Pell Grant are automatically considered in your initial financial aid award. Sponsorships include things like government and private scholarships and tuition benefits. These resources can be used to potentially reduce your family contribution. These funds must be reported to GU-Q. You can also directly contact our office to see how these resources will be accounted into your specific award.
