African Liberty announces a writing fellowship opportunity. The African Liberty Writing Fellowship program is a year-long program designed to train young Africans interested in academia, media, public policy, or any other critical-and-analytical-writing-related career, in opinion article writing. Accepted applicants will complete a five-week mandatory online course.

Eligibility criteria

  • You must be enrolled in or have graduated from an African institution of higher education or be African and pursuing your higher education outside the continent.
  • The training, which will last for 5 weeks, will start from May 23 to June 20, 2023.
  • The fellowship will begin on July 11, 2023, and end on July 11, 2024.
  • The program will take place entirely online as either an internship or fellowship.
