With over&nbsp;<strong>400 researchers across 13 countries<\/strong>, UNU\u2019s work spans the full breadth of the&nbsp;<strong>17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/strong>, generating policy-relevant knowledge to inspire and enable positive global change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UNU partners with more than&nbsp;<strong>200 UN agencies, universities, and research institutions worldwide<\/strong>, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration that bridges research and policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">About the Internship Programme<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Junior Fellows Internship Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;at the&nbsp;<strong>Office of the Rector (Tokyo headquarters)<\/strong>&nbsp;offers graduate students and young professionals a unique opportunity to contribute to UNU\u2019s mission while gaining practical experience in the UN system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conducted twice annually (Spring and Fall terms), the programme is designed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promote dialogue and collaboration<\/strong>\u00a0between emerging scholars, professionals, and UNU experts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Familiarise interns<\/strong>\u00a0with the operations of UNU and the Office of the Rector.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provide hands-on experience<\/strong>\u00a0in research, administration, and project coordination within a UN environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Develop professional competencies<\/strong>\u00a0relevant to international careers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For the&nbsp;<strong>Spring 2026 term<\/strong>, applicants located both&nbsp;<strong>in Japan and overseas<\/strong>&nbsp;are eligible to apply. One candidate fluent in&nbsp;<strong>French and English<\/strong>&nbsp;may be selected to work at the&nbsp;<strong>UNU Office in Paris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Responsibilities<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Junior Fellows work full-time (Monday to Friday, 9:30\u201317:30 JST) and actively contribute to the Office of the Rector\u2019s ongoing initiatives.
