This PhD project sets out an ambitious research plan which will investigate, with the help of cutting-edge computational modelling and experimental validation. As a PhD student, you will take advantage of state-of-the-art soft polymer fabrication (3D\/4D printing) and characterization (i.e. electro-mechanical testing rigs) equipment and the latest computational simulation software tools developed by the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you get this opportunity, you will have a scholarship covering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The full cost of UK tuition fees.<\/li><li>An annual stipend of \u00a317,668 for four years.<\/li><li>Additional research expenses will also be available.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility criteria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You should follow the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Candidates must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level\u00a0(or Non-UK equivalent)\u00a0in Engineering or similar relevant science discipline.\u00a0<\/li><li>English Language requirements: IELTS 6.5 Overall (with no individual component below 5.5) or Swansea recognized equivalent.\u00a0<\/li><li>The mode of study is full-time.<\/li><li>Project start date: 1 October 2023 (Enrolment open from mid\u2013September).<\/li><li>Due to funding restrictions, this scholarship is open to applicants eligible to pay tuition fees at the UK rate only.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Swansea University:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Swansea University is a research-led university that has been making a difference since 1920.
