{"id":2112,"date":"2019-12-18T12:24:30","date_gmt":"2019-12-18T12:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scholarships.msqfon.com\/?p=2112"},"modified":"2019-12-18T12:24:30","modified_gmt":"2019-12-18T12:24:30","slug":"hggs-membership-and-daad-gssp-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/careers.msqfon.com\/?p=2112","title":{"rendered":"HGGS Membership and DAAD-GSSP Scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Graduate Membership and two DAAD-GSSP Scholarships<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><br>We are looking for highly motivated, excellent doctoral&nbsp;candidates with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The HGGS&nbsp;provides a structured, interdisciplinary&nbsp;programme in the Humanities,&nbsp;Social Sciences and Law for the formation of excellent doctoral researchers. It fosters innovative, interdisciplinary research projects at Heidelberg University and offers its members a dynamic and collaborative research environment within a broad national and international network. HGGS members actively contribute to the exchange across the disciplines and benefit from an exclusive&nbsp;selection of interdisciplinary seminars and expert courses in English, German and Spanish. Thematically, the doctoral research projects at the HGGS focus on&nbsp;Field of Focus&nbsp;3:&#8221;Cultural dynamics in globalized worlds&#8221; or&nbsp;Field of Focus 4: &#8220;Self-regulation and regulation: individuals and societies&#8221; at Heidelberg University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must hold an M.A. or equivalent in one of the disciplines of the Humanities and Social Sciences or Law with an above-average grade (at least 1.7, 5.5, B+, 2+, \u201cmagna cum laude\u201d, or similar). The transcript has to indicate at least four years of study at the university level. Excellent knowledge of English or German, in addition to a further language, is expected. Knowledge of German can be acquired or improved during the first year of the programme. Importantly, applicants are expected to contact a potential supervisor at Heidelberg University in order to discuss their research plans and to obtain a supervision agreement. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to present their projects to the Selection Committee at an interview in Heidelberg or via Skype in April 2020.&nbsp;The HGGS Membership is foreseen for three years with the option of an additional year. Membership in the HGGS implies free access to all courses, academic events and international schools&nbsp;at&nbsp;the HGGS and affiliated institutes, but no individual stipend will be awarded. The&nbsp;DAAD-GSSP Scholarships&nbsp;for two international candidates are foreseen for four years with&nbsp;a stipend of 1200,- per month.
