Lead Engineer, Defect Elimination

Location:   Jubail, SA

Job Purpose

Execute the overall Defect Elimination Process to analyse adverse events, identify causal factors, and coordinate action plans to eliminate or reduce the adverse effects of the causal factors.

Key Accountabilities

Determine and implement correct RCFA methodology according to predetermined criteria.

Include required participants in Team Investigations.

Conduct Investigations according to process defined by methodology.

Review findings with Investigation Team.

Report findings and conclusions with Defect Elimination Department Manager.

Work with other resources to develop a solution.

Attend weekly SPIRIT meeting in his assigned area and being the link between SPIRIT and maintenance strategies department staff.

Facilitate threat identification workshop.

Own bad actor process for his assigned area.

Own MTA process for his assigned area.

Review related I&R LFI from Aramco, Shell and others and modify MTA list wherever applicable.

Provide RCA Practitioner-level training for SASREF technical staff.

  • Ensure that measures to protect personal safety and well-being are always in place and that personal actions do not jeopardize the safety and well-being of others.

Qualifications & Experience

Senior Inspection Engineer

Location:  Jubail, SA

Job Purpose:

Plan and execute activities to ensure the optimum reliability, availability and technical integrity of all static equipment and piping systems in his area of responsibility.  Develop technically sound and cost effective maintenance approaches, consistent with the company operating requirements and safety standards.

 Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, review and execute area inspection plans to ensure integrity and reliability of the plant assets.
  • Provide support and technical advice / assistance to Operations, Maintenance, Technology, Engineering, Projects, Contractors to ensure plant integrity and reliability.
  • Develop, monitor implementation and review input into plans to ensure equipment integrity and reliability.
  • Provide the maintenance and shutdown / turnaround teams with required recommendations to ensure continuous availability and integrity of plant.
  • Plan, prepare and execute scope of work to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant.
  • Review and update the Plant Integrity Assurance (RBI) Manual with the latest designated area data and process changes to ensure that plant integrity is maintained
  • Audit the quality assurance quality control plans to ensure the work quality and hence the plant integrity and reliability.
  • Provide relevant information and advice to support the development of a sound departmental business plan.
  • Ensure the business processes and work activities, relevant to position, are executed in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures to achieve the business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Review and approve the quality assurance quality control documents to ensure the work quality and hence the plant integrity and reliability.
  • Raise plant change proposal for upgrading the metallurgy to enhance equipment reliability and integrity.
  • Perform root cause analysis in case of any abnormal finding from inspection that is not aligned with equipment design basis.
  • Manages and motivates team within department and acts as a champion for all company policies and procedures particularly in the areas of human resources and health and safety
